Personality & Temperament
The Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier is a happy, exuberant, and devoted breed from Ireland. They are friendly and outgoing with a characteristic 'Wheaten greeting' — jumping up to greet people face-to-face. Wheatens are good with children and generally friendly with strangers. They have a strong prey drive and may chase small animals. Their soft, silky coat requires regular grooming to prevent matting. Wheatens can be stubborn and require consistent training. They are prone to serious kidney and digestive conditions.
