Personality & Temperament
The Shih Tzu is affectionate, sociable, and content to spend most of its time close to its owner. They are generally good with children and other pets and adapt well to apartment living. Despite a somewhat independent streak, they are not demanding dogs and tend to be easygoing companions. Their long coat requires regular grooming, but their low exercise needs make them well suited to less active households and older owners.
