The Lhasa Apso is an ancient Tibetan breed originally used as a sentinel in Buddhist monasteries. They are confident, assertive, and surprisingly independent for a small dog. Lhasa Apsos are loyal to their families but wary of strangers. They are not typically recommended for homes with young children. Their long, flowing coat requires significant grooming commitment. They can be stubborn but are intelligent and respond to patient training. They are long-lived and make devoted companions for the right owner.
