Personality & Temperament

The Bloodhound is a gentle, patient, and affectionate breed with an extraordinary sense of smell. They are tenacious trackers and will follow a scent trail for miles. Bloodhounds are generally good with children and other pets. They can be stubborn and are not easy to train for obedience. Their long ears and facial folds require regular cleaning. Bloodhounds are vocal and may howl. They require secure fencing as they will follow their nose regardless of commands or traffic.
