The Border Collie is exceptionally intelligent, driven, and highly responsive to training. They are capable of learning complex commands and excel in competitive dog sports. Without sufficient mental and physical stimulation, they can develop obsessive or destructive behaviors. They tend to be reserved with strangers and may attempt to herd children or other animals. Best suited to experienced, active owners who can provide a structured environment and a genuine working outlet.
