The Irish Setter is a rollicking, enthusiastic, and affectionate breed. They are outgoing and friendly with everyone, including strangers. Irish Setters are excellent with children and generally good with other pets. They require extensive daily exercise to remain well-behaved. Their beautiful mahogany coat requires regular grooming. Irish Setters can be slow to mature and may retain puppy-like behavior for several years. They are sensitive and respond best to positive, patient training methods.
