The Lagotto Romagnolo is an ancient Italian breed originally used as a water retriever and now renowned as a truffle hunter. They are affectionate, keen, and highly trainable. Lagottos are good with children and generally friendly with other pets. Their curly, woolly coat is low-shedding and considered suitable for some allergy sufferers, but requires regular grooming to prevent matting. They are energetic and require significant daily exercise and mental stimulation. Lagottos are loyal and devoted companions with an impressive nose.
