Personality & Temperament
The Chow Chow is an ancient, dignified, and aloof breed from China. They are deeply loyal to their families but typically bond with only one or two people. Chow Chows are not recommended for first-time dog owners. They require early socialization and firm, consistent training. They can be aggressive toward other dogs and are generally not good with children or strangers. Their thick double coat requires significant grooming. Despite their independent nature, they are devoted companions to those they trust.
