Leonbergers are friendly and sociable, getting along well with other pets. Their thick double coat requires significant grooming and they shed heavily. They have a tragically short lifespan. Leonbergers are intelligent and trainable, excelling in water rescue and therapy work. They require moderate daily exercise. Their size means they need a home with ample space.
